THE BRIEF
The project involved subdividing a large corner plot to accommodate a new dwelling while retaining amenity for the existing house. The proposal was required to sit outside a protected tree root zone, manage overlooking distances, and respond to established suburban roof forms and street conditions.

OUR SOLUTION
The footprint and massing were reorganised to reduce perceived scale, forming a 1½-storey volume with accommodation contained within the roof. Shared spaces were located at ground level with private rooms above, while setbacks, buffers and roof articulation controlled relationships to site boundaries and neighbours.
